Story times – Wednesdays :

  • Baby and Me (Every Wednesday @ 9:30am) – Introduce books, reading, and language to your baby through stories, songs, rhymes, and movement. Come learn fun ways to help build the early literacy skills children need to become successful readers! For ages 0-2 with a parent or caregiver.
  • StoryStop (Every Wednesday @ 10:30am) – Introduce books, reading, and language to your child through stories, songs, rhymes, and movement. Come learn fun ways to help build the early literacy skills children need to become successful readers! For ages 3-5 with a parent or caregiver.

Elementary – Thursdays:

  • Young Artist Program (First Thursday of each month @ 4pm) – Calling all young art historians and artists! Each month, elementary aged students are invited to learn about art history, while also creating an original piece of art inspired by the featured artist.
  • Growing Gardens, Growing Minds (Second Thursday of each month @ 4pm) – Embark on a green adventure with our environmental education class. This hands-on program invites kids to connect with nature, learn about sustainable practices, and cultivate a love for the environment. For grades K-4th.

Tweens – Tuesdays:

  • Young Artist Program (First Tuesday of each month @ 4pm) – Calling all tween art historians and artists! Each month, learn about art history, while also creating an original piece of art inspired by the featured artist.

Special Programs:

  • Books and Badges (Fourth Monday of the Month at 10:30am and 4:00pm) – Wayne County Public Library will welcome guest readers from the Goldsboro Police Department each month through the new Books and Badges Program. Goldsboro Police Officers will visit the library and read pre-selected books families of all ages. Registration requiredRegister here.
  • Learning Studio Programming (Jan. 27th, Feb. 10th, Mar. 9th) – For Parents and Educators:  Join us as we uncover the signs of the most common learning differences. Experience simulations that help us to better understand what it means to live and learn with these differences, and what we can do to provide support. Registration requiredRegister here.
  • Reading Tails (Jan. 13th & 20th, Feb. 3rd & 10th, Mar. 2nd, Apr. 13th & 27th, May 4th, Jun. 1st & 8th; from 1:00-3:00 pm.) – Practice your reading skills with Dolly the therapy dog! By appointment only.  Register here.

Story Time (Ages 0-5)

Join us for stories, songs, and crafts as we build on our listening and literacy skills, learn new words, and help our imaginations all at the same time. No registration needed.

Cool Kids Club (Grades K-5th)
Second Tuesday of every month @ 4:00 pm

Baby and Me Story Time (Birth-3 years)
Thursdays 10:30-11:30 am
Join us for a special sharing time together promoting and modeling early literacy. Babies, birth through 3 years, will interact with each other while enjoying books, puppets, songs, and dance all designed with babies in mind. Registration is required.

Story Time (All ages)
Wednesdays 10:00-11:00 am
Join us as we read, talk, and craft our way through themed story times. Children of all ages are welcome. Registration is required.

Fun with Science (Ages 8 and up)
Second Wednesday of the month 4:30-5:30 pm
Come explore science with us!  We will have a brief overview of a science concept followed by a related experiment.  We conclude with a craft/activity putting their newly obtained science knowledge to the test.  Registration required. 

A Novel Team (Ages 8 and up)
Fourth Wednesday of the Month 4:30-5:30 pm
Our book club uses picture books as a way to encourage young readers with sharing their thoughts, ideas, and perspectives.  A book related craft or activity will follow the book discussion. Registration required.
