Teen Advisory Board

The Teen Advisory Boards at the locations of the Wayne County Public Library are volunteer programs that provide teens with an opportunity to have a say in what happens in the teen sections. From what books we order to what programs we plan, the TABs are at the heart of it all.

Teens can gain leadership and teamwork skills and make a difference in the library. The Teen Advisory Boards are a great addition to college applications. Meetings at the Goldsboro Library are held on the third Thursday of the month at 3:00 PM during the school year.

What do Teen Advisory Board members do?

  • Suggest ideas for teen programming and help organize teen events.
  • Help create displays of teen-interest books.
  • Offer suggestions on books, comics and manga for the Teen Zone

Who can join the Teen Advisory Board?

  • Anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 is eligible.
  • Board members must have transportation to and from the library.
  • Board members must have permission from their parents.

Teen Trivia Challenge

On the last Thursday of the month, the WCPL social media channels will provide a link to a themed trivia challenge. Each person completing the challenge will be able to enter for a chance to win a small prize.

Virtual Anime Club

This program requires Discord. Once per month on the second Thursday of the month at 3:00 PM, WCPL hosts an Anime Club virtually. Similar to a book club, we pick an anime, and then we watch a series of episodes before the next meeting and discuss our thoughts. Contact 919-735-1824 ext. 5116 to sign up!

Virtual Escape Rooms

Once per week on Fridays, the Wayne County Public Library social media channels will provide a link to a virtual escape room for teens. These rooms are text-based adventure games involving puzzles. Check them out!
