Wayne County Public Library Celebrates National Library Card Sign-Up Month
GOLDSBORO, NC, September 14, 2021 – September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Wayne County Public Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind parents, caregivers, and students that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.
Libraries offer everything from early literacy programs to virtual homework help and GED classes, helping transform lives and communities through education. At Wayne County Public Library, patrons can find a wide variety of educational resources and activities, including adult computer classes, crafting programs for all ages, local history programs, and story times for children.
“Libraries play an important role in the education and development of children,” said Donna Phillips, Library Director, “We have library programs that serve students of all ages and backgrounds, such as early literacy programs, STEM programs, and virtual tutoring.”

During September, the Wayne County Public Library will be celebrating National Library Card Sign up month with a special Library Card BINGO, which includes a take home BINGO activity featuring different library resources. Participants who return a completed BINGO card will be entered in a raffle for one of four library themed tote bags and a gift card.
The event will last from September 1st through September 30th and all members of the community are encouraged to participate.
