The Dorothy Cotton Institute is releasing a feature-length film in 2023 called when “Move When the Spirit Says Move,” on the life and legacy of Civil Rights activist and Goldsboro native, Dorothy Foreman Cotton. The work of Wayne County Public Library and the late Local History Librarian, Marty Tschetter, is featured in this moving biopic which will be specially screened in advance for Wayne County residents and Cotton’s family and friends, courtesy of the Dorothy Cotton Institute. Wayne County Public Library will be bringing the first feature-length film about Dorothy Cotton to her hometown of Goldsboro, North Carolina for the first time. We will host a conversation/Q&A with those involved in the creation of the film after the screening.
