Spoken Word is the intersection of two artforms, literary and performance. It can be emotional, inspirational, educational, and as creative and expressive as your imagination. It can also be a tool for healing and growth. This workshop examines how to put your thoughts and ideas down on paper and how to make them live on a stage. Participants will engage in writing prompts, peer review, and performance activities that will bring out the power inside them.

The workshop will introduce participants to elements of poetry, uses of figurative language, and the power of creative expression. Participants will learn reflection, observation, and critical thinking as they craft original poems. This will affirm their thoughts and ideas and show them how to use their voice. Please call 919-735-1824 ext. 5100 to register.
