Did you know that Goldsboro was home to the first Garden Club in North Carolina? Plant exchanges were a popular activity for early garden clubs. Let’s embrace that spirit and enjoy an afternoon with our neighbors! Bring plants or cuttings to exchange with neighbors and/or garden tools you would like to rehome or swap. (All varieties of plant are welcome from ornamentals to succulents to vegetables.) Learn a little bit about library resources for gardeners and casually explore the work of local poets while you visit. This is a family-friendly event. Blackout poetry take and make kits will be available in our Children’s Department and in Local History while supplies last as a creative craft in the spirit of this event. Email [email protected] or call (919) 735-1824 ext. 5238 to reserve your spot!
