Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Wayne County Public Library, Wayne County Latino Council, and Wayne County NC Cooperative Extension are proud to host a series of programs to honor Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th -October 15th).

Paint & Explore:
Sept. 3, 2019 5:30 pm-6:30 pm
Come paint with us! Paint Spanish themed landscapes with vibrant colors. This isn’t your typical paint program: We’ll have music, light refreshments, and a fun time! 

YA Book Discussion, featuring I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sanchez:
Sept. 7, 2019 11 am-12 pm: Sanchez takes us through a journey of life, hardships and change through the eyes of Julia Reyes. This book discussion will cover a series of hard, but necessary social and teen friendly topics that will keep participants on the edge of their seats.

Immigrant Voices:
Sept. 10, 2019 6 pm-7 pm Come listen to the stories of those who have traveled to America from their native lands. This is a program of inclusion, acceptance, and community growth.

Taste and Travel:
Sept.11, 2019 3pm-4 pm Looking for healthy, delicious Mexican cuisine? Michelle Estrada, with the NC Cooperative Extension of Wayne County, will demonstrate how to make several budget-friendly meals.
